Defford-cum-Besford CE First School is currently evolving into a Primary School.  

In September 2025 we are thrilled to be keeping our first cohort of Year 5 pupils.  In September 2026 we will become a Primary School and have our first Year 6 pupils.  

To support this change, we are having an extension to the school.  This will include a new classroom, toilets, a replacement SEN room and additional cloakroom spaces.
