Extra -Curricular Activities

There is a lot going on in school! Activities can vary each term, but typically include:

The children have won prizes in the Bredon Art Competition and te Cheltenham Music Festival.

Outdoor Facilities

We like to get outdoors as much as we can! We have a garden with a pond where the children can nurture plants and watch wildlife; a good sized playing field; a adventure playground for Year 1's and older and forest school for Reception children. During forest school the children spend one afternoon per week learning through play and structured activities in a woodland enviroment on site.

Our latest addition to the school area is our outdoor clasroom, which is used for 'circle time' discussions, quiet writing and sketching and play area.

Playgroup and Pre-school

Defford Under 5's playgroup runs four mornings per week in the school hall. Children who attend playgroup are able to join in activities with the school children, including one morning per week dedicated to children who will join us in the next academic year.
This makes the transition into school life much easier for them.

We also run a Pre-school afternoon each week(Friday) when parents and children can join Reception year in class 1.
