Keeping our pupils safe and ensuring our school is a reliable, safe and welcoming place for every member of our school community is at the heart of all we do at Defford-cum-Besford CE First School.

All staff members have a full and active part in protecting children from harm.  

If you have a concern about the safety and well-being of a pupil, our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is the Headteacher, Mr Tom Holdstock, and Mrs Vicki Whitehead is our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated Mental Health Lead.

Our Lead Safeguarding Governor is Mr James Harrington.
