Our curriculum is designed to ensure we meet the statutory needs of the Primary National Curriculum and the needs of our pupils. We have constructed our curriculum using 4 core pillars - Knowledge, Vocabulary, Understanding and Skills.  These 4 pillars are used to map out our intended learning for each subject, for each term.  


Themes are used by each class.  We do not teach everything to a topic, as we believe this can negatively impact the quality of teaching and learning in some curriculum areas.  Themes are used, where appropriate, to provide a wider context to learning.  For details on what themes the children are learning, teachers send details to parents at the start of each term and they are published on our class pages.  


We are proud to be an inclusive school.  Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of our learners and all children are offered access to our curriculum.  Children may need to receive additional support with some aspects of the learning but all children do receive the same curriculum.  This allows them all the same opportunities to learn and develop their knowledge, vocabulary, understanding and skills.  Our school SENCo works closely with children, parents and teachers to ensure all children have access to their learning.
